Barrier to Smart Investing?
There was an article recently in AARP Magazine that posted some interesting results of a survey regarding consumer awareness and investing, for the 50+ age group. Here’s some of them:- 60% of Americans say they don’t read financial literature because it’s too hard to understand
- 41% or Americans who are "turned off" to financial jargon
- 30% made an investment they regretted because of not understanding it
- 54% of Americans who think and IRS tax form is easier to understand than a mutual fund prospectus
