I Know Nothing About Marketing and Lead Generation!
Once you begin your online marketing business it’s not long before all the excitement of the products is replaced by mild panic. I can say this from my own experience! I’m talking about the kind of mild panic that goes along with the thought process of "What was I thinking? I know NOTHING about marketing and lead generation!"
Guess what? It doesn’t matter . Take a deep breath and put it all into perspective. If you have the desire to succeed, and you know you want to do this "for the long haul", you will LEARN the skills necessary to thrive. How do I know? I’ve been there and I’ve learned them, so can you! You shouldn’t have the mindset of "getting rich over night", (or you’ll be disappointed). But, you should have one of being focused, patient, organized, resourceful, patient, studious, inquisitive, and did I happen to mention patient….. Plus, those skills you learn will likely become transferable to other areas of your life as well.
When I begin coaching individuals who are on the verge of hyperventilating, we start with what I call a "dump list". Drawing from my 25 years of project management experience, we list those items (usually high level) that she/he thinks are the ones to be completed to move forward. I assist with prioritizing the items and then we work on filling in more details for each task. Once this new "task list" is developed a realistic timeline is created. One that is a stretch, but will work with her/his lifestyle and goals. We have periodic meetings afterwards to check progress, add tasks, and adjust timelines. It helps some who are not accustomed to managing their own time, to be accountable to someone other than themselves.
- Start by creating your "To Do" list, (which by the way could be all of the trainings you need to learn new skills)
- Prioritize them
- Assign timelines
- Celebrate your success of each completed item
- Take a breath and keep going - you’ll get there!
What works for you to stay on task and remain organized?
Until next time, J.

I created a split personality LOL! Seriously, all kidding aside, you have to get organized especially online. The net is just too full of things to distract you from your goal. I love the way you reach right in and help those within (and outside) your business. That is a rare commodity online, someone willing to go the distance when it comes to running a home business online. Anyone working with you is a lucky person!

Thanks for the feedback Diane. As in all careers, if it’s new to you there will be a learning curve. Most of us who have excelled have done so because we’ve had a coach/mentor to guide us. What’s the saying - “pay it forward”…. I like to give back because I’ve had some incredible teachers!
