Will Your Home-Based Business Benefit From These?
When I say "These" I mean the 8 proven goal setting steps . Goal setting is important to do in all areas of ones life such as family goals, spiritual, social, physical, educational, and financial. We’re going to be addressing business goals though and the impact they have. For those of you building a successful home based business this is even more critical as you are the main one responsible for your business being profitable .
You should begin by asking yourself "why" you want to achieve a particular goal as you create your list. If it’s something someone else thinks you should have as a goal, but you don’t, the likelihood of your following it through is slim. Your goals will become one of the drivers of your belief system , so make them real to you.
The key is to have reachable / achievable goals that will make you stretch. The objective of them are to keep you focused and on track. Large and small businesses alike use them.
Your goals should include each of these 8 steps:
- Be specific and precise
- Keep them simple
- Be sure they are significant to your business
- Make them strategic and set priorities
- Can you measure them – set performance goals
- Is it rational and not contradicting any other goal
- Set realistic tangible goals – but stretch yourself
- Write all of your goals down – present each goal as a positive statement
Every decision you make during the course of the day you should ask yourself….. did this take me closer to my goal or not? If it doesn’t take you closer then re-evaluate.
Remember that your goals will change as time goes on, so periodically review them and adjust accordingly.
What goal setting steps do you take to achieve success?
Until next time, J.

My favourite part of having a list of my goals, is to actually cross them off the list once I’ve completed them. For some reason this gives me great satisfaction!
