A Common Denominator That Successful People Share

February 24th, 2009 -- Posted in Home Business Ideas, HowTo Business Questions, Marketing Tips, Wealth Strategies, personal development | No Comments »

Whether I look at those in my personal life or professional life, a common denominator to the most successful of them is that they continue learning.  They consider themselves lifelong learners and are excited to try new methods, theories, technology, and gain new skill sets.  It keeps them fresh, motivated, and the mind sharp.

We used to only have access to wonderful speakers and trainers through books, "physical" classes or by attending conferences in person.  Now with the Internet so much has changed, providing access to education we might not consider participating in before.  I currently take online classes on various subjects, in addition to webinars & teleseminars – my personal favorites!

In fact one of my monthly teleseminars is with Ali Brown (she was mentored by Dan Kennedy and always has interesting tips).  You may have heard of Ali. She’s really shaken up the Internet marketing world by being honest and continue reading »

Create Your OWN Stimulus Package!

February 23rd, 2009 -- Posted in Retirement, Vacations and Fun, Wealth Strategies, personal development | No Comments »

We’ve all been reading about the government stimulus packages, and what they will and won’t do.  Isn’t it time to create your own and not rely on others?  You know my favorite saying, “Take control of your destiny or someone else will”.  I should be adding – “and you may not like their plan for you!”

I’ve been doing a lot of reading lately about mindset and how entrepreneurs truly think differently than those who just want a j.o.b.  We want more control of our lives, our attitudes are different (we don’t have an entitlement mentality), and we know that we create our own opportunities.  So it came as no surprise to me when Darren Hardy’s next step in his Workaholics Anonymous series was addressing this same topic.

One person who has greatly influenced his life is Jim Rohn .  Here are some of the key points he states in his article, many from Jim’s teachings:

  • We become the combined average of the five people we hang out with the most;

What's Luv Got To Do With It – Your Finances I Mean

February 17th, 2009 -- Posted in Retirement, Wealth Strategies, personal development | No Comments »

I’m talking about your finances , especially you ladies.  While many people are successful of handling their finances (and decisions) jointly, many do not fit in that category.  Did you know that:

~ Women can now own property , which in some states prior to 1981 wasn’t possible without a man’s jointly owning it;
~ 85% of all buying decisions are up to a woman to make;
~ Women spent about 5 Trillion dollars in the U.S. last year;
~ Women take home 57% of all the college degrees , so they can potentially earn more;
~ Women now have access to credit , which wasn’t the case before 1973 and;
~ Over 80% of women will need to make financial decisions for themselves at some point in their adult lives.

So, why is it, that most women continue reading »
