Former Business Woman Found Under Bridge Eating Government Cheese
Thank goodness the weather has been warming up, because this lady was found living under a bridge of all things! How did an up and coming career track woman, who wanted nothing more than to have a comfortable life for she and her daughter end up there? When asked, she did all of the “right things” by climbing the corporate ladder, working long hours to get ahead, saved her money , and even worked two jobs sometimes. All of this and it still wasn’t enough ~ how did it happen so quickly….then, I woke up!
Oh my, can you even imagine? I just shared with you a reoccurring dream I used to have a number of years ago. A dream that would make me live and take action because of fear. I used to work my fanny off for others, miss my daughter’s activities and miss out doing things because even though I had an above average income – I still couldn’t afford to indulge. That’s when I decided to become self employed and “Take control of my destiny before someone else did”. I haven’t looked back since. Of course my being self employed has evolved as the years have gone by, allowing more of the entrepreneur to come out – but I will never forget that “negative” dream that kept me motivated.
Now, I only keep the “positive” dreams in the forefront of my mind to motivate me. I am blessed to have the opportunity to volunteer weekly for Meals on Wheels and make monetary donations to my local food bank and the Heifer Int’l organization . Is it any wonder that many of my volunteer activities revolve around food? I guess in that old dream the government cheese tasted pretty nasty!
What is it that drives you, motivates you? Is it fear or is it something more positive?

That’s an excellent point. Too many people today are just accepting that they’re victims of the recession and not trying to take control of their situation.
