3 Considerations for Success in an Online Business

Becoming an online entrepreneur in the network marketing industry is a great way to create a wealth building system. When considering an online business opportunity there are generally three things to consider.

1)    Cost – there are always going to be start up costs when joining an affiliate or network marketing program but they vary widely. Some charge a one time fee, some charge a monthly fee. Some charge both. You are also going to have to purchase at least some of the products and services that the company offers, especially if you want to become a “product of the product”.  Additionally, there are other costs associated with an online business: creating and designing a website, marketing systems and advertising, database software, etc., unless you join a group who supplies most of this. You will have to take all of these expenses into account when drawing up a budget for your business. You will also need to understand the compensation plan. Each one is different and they all have their pros and cons. The bottom line is, how soon do you think you can start making money?

2)    Support – this is a crucial piece of an entrepreneur’s success or failure rate and frankly it’s why most people fail in creating an online business. If in Network marketing, you will need to know if your upline will be available on a consistent basis to help you get started and be there to answer your questions. Can you reach them on the telephone? You should have at least a few other contact people you can go to for support. The company, as a whole, should also offer outstanding support for their new recruits. Weekly online meetings, teleseminars, and email support are things the company should offer.

3)    Product or Service – the online business you are considering must have a quality product or service, something tangible and real. This too is where many businesses fail; they do not have anything of value to offer their target market . It’s a good idea to try the products and services yourself first. If you don’t like them, or don’t even know what they are or how they work, how are you going to sell them to other people? People need to know that they are buying from a sincere, honest, and legitimate business owner. You can’t just put a website up and expect people to flock to it. Create value and trust first……

Until next time, J.
