Light the Night Walk for Leukemia
Hi everyone!
I am participating again in The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk on October 3rd in Walnut Creek, California in memory of Robert Harvie and would love your support to reach my goal. Those of you who are not familiar with my background, I’ll share the short version ~ my husband was diagnosed with leukemia (ALL) a little more than 16 years ago. He lost his battle 12 years ago last month at the age of 39. Since then I have been a huge supporter of the society because they were one of the most helpful groups during our long journey. It’s hard to believe 12 years has gone by already and fortunately great strides have been made in finding a cure, even for adults, which wasn’t always the case. I am also walking in memory and support of a few other friends and family whose lives have been affected by this disease. Most of you know first or second hand that any type of cancer is not discriminatory – including leukemia – any one of us or a loved one could be affected tomorrow.
The money raised is for a very important cause: finding better treatments and cures for blood cancers so patients can live better, longer lives through The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk. I’m asking you to help by making a contribution if at all possible! Please use the link in this email to donate online quickly & securely. You will receive an email confirmation of your donation as soon as it is made. I thank you in advance for your support which will make a difference in the lives of thousands of patients battling blood cancers.
If you are in the areas and would like to join us walking in memory or support of one of your loved ones – we would love your company.
I really appreciate your generosity!!

Yours is definitely for a noble cause. Very few would exert effort and time to contribute. To further help this cause, would time and skill be of assistance as well?

Thanks for taking the time to comment. The Light the Night Walk is only 2 miles, but is a wonderful experience with all of the red, white and gold balloons lit up from the inside – you get a real visual of how many people are supporting the cause.
Stay well!
Janet

It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever experienced, those of you who have “been there” know what I’m talking about. I didn’t think that anything would make the pain go away, but the old saying “time heals” came from those who walked that journey before me….
