If you’re reading this you certainly are aware of "blogs". You may even have one (or more) of your own. But, what if you want to start blogging and don’t know where to start? Or, what if you just don’t want to take the time to setup all the details to get it up and going?
Before starting though you may want to ask yourself, "why do I want to start a blog"?
Here are some reasons I’m aware of:
Websites are now considered "static" info
Blogs are interactive and easy to maintain yourself
Because they’re interactive and info changes frequently the search engines love them. (Doesn’t hurt to get more exposure!)
You can get more personable with your audience
What type of Blog layout interests you?
Personal, Business, Combined
2 Column, or 3 Column
Bright, flashy color schemes or more subdued
If you know who your target audience will be, this might determine colors, and style used
The resource I recommend to get you up and rolling is the Whole Hog Blogs . They can help you with defining those answers, plus more. Also, tell them Janet sent you!
Please leave a comment and let me know if you have set your Blogs up yourself or who may have assisted you

I’ve taken on a Personal Development project to create a short series of videos on frustrations and challenges, addressing why career changes are sought out and some challenges when they are made. A final video will recap the benefits of creating the first 10. These can be found on YouTube as well if you’d like to subscribe.
Here’s number 7……
Please leave a comment and tell me how you have learned (or are learning) how to invest for your future….

Here’s an interesting article discussing the 3 steps to being more productive at work (by Bob Cox )
Please leave a comment about the steps YOU take to be more productive…
I need to e-mail my sister this video of dogs and cats playing. It is so cute, she will love it.
I need to check my favorite sports team website to see who has been traded and all the recent rumors surrounding our star pitcher.
I need to call Bill to set up our golf game for next week.
I need to add to my blog so my readers will be updated on my latest insights into Obama’s campaign.
I need to go online and pick out a gift for Aunt Sarah’s birthday.
I really need to think about where I’m going for lunch and what I’m going to eat.
Do any of the above sound familiar? Of course they do!
I call this "ID Syndrome " - the disease of Internal Distraction . And unless you learn how to defeat this affliction, you won’t get anywhere at work or in life.
We all have personal thoughts like these while we are working. But there’s a big difference between how high achievers deal with them and how people who never do better than the status quo deal with them. You see, high achievers recognize that these thoughts are WANTS - not NEEDS - that should be dealt with outside of the working day.
Here’s a little example of just how problematic internal distractions can become…
Have you ever wondered if making money, building a business, and having the freedom to travel when and where you want is really possible? Does it sound too good to be true?
It wasn’t that long ago that I, too, figured most of what was out there on the net was… well let’s just say "less than honest."
It really was hard to weed the hype from the real thing. Note the use of the word "was." The truly marvelous thing is that - with more than luck on my side - I did find "the real, real thing" and I’ve been living the home business life ever since!
Yes, I can and do state with complete honesty that there are "real people" out there living the (successful!) home business lifestyle! I know, because I am one of them (feel free to contact me ).
So why is it that some people "have all the luck" while the vast majority suffer along? The difference is successful people have a plan and a solid system!

In a prior post I mentioned the benefits of owning your own home-based business and the flexibility it can allow you to "have a life" too.
Well, this past 10 days was another example of that . In case you noticed my posts were a bit infrequent, it’s because we were enjoying ourselves on the Harley with a group of friends. We were sight-seeing some continue reading »
I came across this article and thought it so worthwhile I’m including it as my post today. Let me know your thoughts, leave a comment.
Since January, I’ve been writing a series of essays in ETR intended to give you tools to help you "master plan" your life. As you put this master plan into action, you will find that you will be able to accomplish more than you ever have before. Much more.
People will notice how much you’re getting done. And, as a result, some of them will come to you for help. Or advice. Or simply to give you more work because you have become your company’s go-to person.
This is all good and fine. It gives you more power. And more options. And more opportunities to advance in your career. But unless you have a system for managing all that extra work, you will soon be overwhelmed. And if you become overwhelmed, the happy movie you have been making about yourself in your head will turn into a horror story. People will be disappointed in you. Then angry at you. Before you know it, they’ll be planning to get rid of you.
You don’t want that. You want to be in charge of how much work you do. And you want to keep track of that work as well as all the work you delegate to other people. Keep in mind that the higher up you go in your business, the more delegating you’ll be doing.
As you get busier, you want to get better too. In particular, you want to:
I’m diverting just a bit this morning from posting more information about Carbon Copy Pro, because I came across a great article on the site of The Wealthy Blogger . I connected with this, as it reminds us to take a breath and regenerate….
A quote from the article…..
….."From experience, I can attest to the importance of making it a regular habit to set aside at least 24 hours each and every week to personal relaxation away from work. You might get more done at first if you don’t take this break - but in the long run, you will find yourself in a rut, discouraged, and possibly even having forgotten how to enjoy life! Is that what you are working for? In the long run, you’ll likely achieve more when you take regular breaks from your work and learn to work hard and then play hard.
If you don’t take regular breaks, you may end up forgetting what it is exactly you are working for. You may lose sight of your major values. Of course, taking too many breaks when you can’t afford it or should be working can have similar effects as well.
When you start out working towards goal achievement, you likely will spend long hard hours at your work. Sacrificing leisure time especially at the beginning will likely be a requirement in order to achieve any goal that you have set for yourself. Giving up a few hours in the evening of TV in order to move yourself ahead will probably be a sacrifice you will need to make if you want to achieve goals in the future of being financially independent and doing many of the activities you’re watching others do while you watch TV."
To read the complete article, please click here ….. it will be worth your while.
Also, please leave a comment on how you like to regenerate and refresh your spirit.
Until next time, J.
