$700 Billion Bailout Still Not Enough?

November 13th, 2008 -- Posted in Misc Ranting, Retirement, Wealth Strategies | No Comments »

Every day the headlines talk about a new company that has reported less than desirable earnings, and are now requesting support from the government. The domino effect has been created and it’s global. Some time back I mentioned a movie that has been playing around the country in select cities called I.O.U.S.A. I now have the book and will be reading it over the next couple of weeks. I’ll let you know my thoughts when I finish it.

Meanwhile, I thought Kip Herriage (The CEO & Founder of Wealth Masters Int’l) had an interesting post on his blog yesterday. He wrote: continue reading »

The Most Effective Way To Market To Today’s Moms

November 7th, 2008 -- Posted in Home Business Ideas, Marketing Tips, Wealth Strategies | 1 Comment »

Today, I want to share with you a source I periodically use, and the recent email I received from this group. They have a plethora of information on any target market you may want to know more about. Here’s the latest from them…..

As with most groups, there is no homogenous "moms market."

There are nuclear family moms. Traditional moms. Working moms. Military moms. Single moms. Lesbian moms.

There are motherless moms. Teen moms. Neurotic moms. Black moms. Moms with Ph.Ds.

You get the idea.

And while each of these subgroups — and scores more — has certain unique characteristics, there are also common bonds that cut across most mom groupings.

The research study What Moms Think & Do, just issued by EPM Communications, publisher of the monthly newsletter Marketing To Women, continue reading »

Right Time to Start a Business

October 15th, 2008 -- Posted in Carbon Copy Pro, Home Business Ideas, Wealth Strategies | 3 Comments »

Sometimes others can say it best and are worth quoting. Here’s something from Seth Godin on the Right Time to Start a Business:

  • "Whenever a business cycle starts to falter, the media start wringing their hands. Then big businesses do, then freelancers, entrepreneurs, and soon everyone is keening.
  • "People and organizations that have no real financial stress start to pull back, ‘because it’s prudent.’ Now is not the time, they say.
  • "Growth is frightening for a lot of people. It brings change and the opportunity for public failure. So if continue reading »

3 Steps to Defining Your Target Audience

October 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Home Business Ideas, Marketing Tips, Wealth Strategies | 29 Comments »

What? Define my target audience? I thought marketing online meant determining a few good keywords, running some ads, placing a dozen banners, and then people would find my site and buy. Viola! While that might have worked for a few folks a number of years ago when marketing online was fairly new, NOW it’s a whole new world! If you aren’t defining WHO you’re targeting, you are WASTING advertising dollars. Those of you who are marketing for FREE on Web 2.0 social sites are wasting continue reading »

Your Home-Based Business & Selling With Integrity

October 9th, 2008 -- Posted in Home Business Ideas, Wealth Strategies | 3 Comments »

If you’ve been watching the news then you see how the media grabs something, hangs on like a pit-bull, and sometimes doesn’t report as objectively as their training has taught them. (My opinion anyway). Not that we aren’t experiencing a time like no other, and that we should be cautious…. If you’ve been looking for a home-based business you’re probably frightened away by some of the "hype" you read as well.

My colleagues, Dr. Bob Clarke and his wife Rosemary address this continue reading »

It wasn’t that long ago that the Feds bailed out Bear Stearns and Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. There were a lot of people "downsized" during that fiasco. However, the recent news of Lehman Brothers (a 100+ year old company) being told by the Feds to "come up with its own solution", as reported on blogs.moneycentral.msn.com will cause another employment meltdown. In addition, there were more than continue reading »

How To Start Blogging

July 16th, 2008 -- Posted in Home Business Ideas, Time Management | 5 Comments »

If you’re reading this you certainly are aware of "blogs". You may even have one (or more) of your own. But, what if you want to start blogging and don’t know where to start? Or, what if you just don’t want to take the time to setup all the details to get it up and going?

Well, I have a resource for you HERE….

Before starting though you may want to ask yourself, "why do I want to start a blog"?

Here are some reasons I’m aware of:

  • Websites are now considered "static" info
  • Blogs are interactive and easy to maintain yourself
  • Because they’re interactive and info changes frequently the search engines love them. (Doesn’t hurt to get more exposure!)
  • You can get more personable with your audience

What type of Blog layout interests you?

  • Personal, Business, Combined
  • 2 Column, or 3 Column
  • Bright, flashy color schemes or more subdued
  • If you know who your target audience will be, this might determine colors, and style used

The resource I recommend to get you up and rolling is the Whole Hog Blogs . They can help you with defining those answers, plus more. Also, tell them Janet sent you!

Please leave a comment and let me know if you have set your Blogs up yourself or who may have assisted you :-)

Until next time, J.
