You’ve Got to Love Online Marketing

What other business can you leave running on auto pilot for a few days besides an online business?  Whether you’re marketing online with your own products and services or someone else’s as an affiliate, if you have an automated system in place you can leave for a few days at a time and it will continue working for you!

Which is just what we did this past weekend ~ went on a Harley ride from the Bay Area to visit friends in Grass Valley.  Here’s a photo taken from their back deck. It was amazing!

Wild weather we experienced this past weekend in California.  It went from 100 degrees on Friday to the 80’s and raining on Saturday.

The next shot is of the river we followed and traversed through Downieville and up through Truckee. If you haven’t been to this area, it’s well worth a visit.

Another Stunning View!

It was a bit sad however when talking with business owners ~ a couple of stores said they’d be closing by the end of the month.  I wonder if they learned how to market online if that would still be the case?

Until next time, J.

Women In Business Leaders No Longer Followers

November 1st, 2008 -- Posted in Wealth Strategies | No Comments »

I recently came across an interesting and informative article in a back issue of Business Week titled, “As Leaders, Women Rule,” and here’s an interesting tidbit or two taken from that article:

“…new research is showing that men ought to be the ones doing more of the imitating. In fact, after years of analyzing what makes leaders most effective and figuring out who’s got the Right Stuff, management gurus now know how to boost the odds of getting a great executive: Hire a female.”

Let’s face it, women are better trained to handle difficult tasks. Started eons ago, the tough jobs were engrained into women, almost preprogrammed so to speak. From raising families to keeping everyone fed, clothed, and happy the idea that a woman’s work is never done has been drilled into us for more generations than any of us can count.

So it’s not surprising (at least to women) that as executives and business owners women do rule.

Women are, much more often than men, scoring higher in producing higher-quality work, goal setting, and mentoring employees. Not my opinion, but statiscal fact. And, the article goes on to say, that these types of findings were “accidentally stumbled on” in the course of pulling together hundreds of evaluations (dare I suggest who was doing the compiling?).

The reasons for coming to these conclusions are quite simple as evidenced by the statement, “Women think through decisions better than men, are more collaborative, and seek less personal glory.” That was the statement of IBM executive Douglas Elix.

Another interesting fact is that women are more in tune so to speak with the global information age. The reason? Teamwork and partnerships are a critical component of the new digital age. And women do work better – not only individually but in groups.

As a woman, you have a tremendous advantage over men when it comes to choosing and running a home business. A woman’s training is ideal for such a venture. Willing to put in the time to see results, willing to study and apply, willing to listen, willing to follow through. All key components to running a successful home based business, all key ingredients in (just about) every woman’s genetic make up.

So, ladies listen up! Turn your personal power to your advantage, and your common sense and desire to success. Money making opportunities abound on the net! Take the digital information age by the horns and go for it!

3 Steps to Defining Your Target Audience

October 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Home Business Ideas, Marketing Tips, Wealth Strategies | 29 Comments »

What? Define my target audience? I thought marketing online meant determining a few good keywords, running some ads, placing a dozen banners, and then people would find my site and buy. Viola! While that might have worked for a few folks a number of years ago when marketing online was fairly new, NOW it’s a whole new world! If you aren’t defining WHO you’re targeting, you are WASTING advertising dollars. Those of you who are marketing for FREE on Web 2.0 social sites are wasting continue reading »

Mastermind Advisory Team

August 8th, 2008 -- Posted in Another Welcomed Weekend, Carbon Copy Pro, Home Business Ideas, Marketing Tips, Retirement, Wealth Strategies | No Comments »

I’ve been busy preparing for my upcoming Mastermind Advisory Team meeting (starts this afternoon), and realized I haven’t written about any of the highlights of the Wealth Masters conference in Las Vegas last week. I will post that info next week for you…..

If you haven’t formed an advisory team for your business you may want to consider it. Here are some of the discussion items our group will review at this session (myself and 3 other business owners from different industries):

  • Marketing Strategies (online and offline)
  • Marketing Tools
  • Target Audience
  • Budgets

We meet twice per year for 3-4 days. While the primary reasons for our getting together are business discussions – we also make room for fun! This time the meeting will be held in the SF Bay area, so we will spend one day in San Francisco at the Ferry Building, The Cannery, Fisherman’s Wharf, etc. Getting out and observing how other businesses market can give you a fresh perspective on potential additions to your own marketing plans.

Please leave a comment and tell us about your Advisory Team… :-)

Until next time, J.
