A BIT ABOUT ME … JANET GIACOMA

Over the years I’ve recreated myself financially a couple of times; the first due to a divorce, the second due to the death of my spouse. I’ve always been fortunate in earning an above average income and would “save”, but I found that alone is not enough to get ahead.

As a single parent for many years I missed out on a lot at home because of long hours at work and no control of my time. In 2001, I left my employer of 17 years and pursued starting my own business as a project management professional. This transition allowed me flexibility with a good income, however, I’m still not completely in control of my time.

I love the business I am in, but my long term goal is to work “from anywhere” as I travel.  So now, as I make another transition into a career in direct sales and Internet marketing – I’m getting my time back and having a blast! I am living my dream, by assisting serious entrepreneurs in building a profitable online business with multiple income streams, and all from home.  While my project management business is still thriving, I am loving watch this business grow, allowing me choices.

Providing tools and developing action plans through coaching and discussions which range from wealth building strategies, online marketing, goal setting and creating a “success” mindset, I set the stage to “Take control of your destiny or someone else will.”

On a personal note, as balance and harmony in all areas of my life are important, I enjoy gardening, traveling locally (on our Harley) and abroad (via other modes), reading, (primarily self-development lately), family time when our kids are in town, and having a kitchen full of friends and family – cooking, eating, drinking, and having fun – Live, Love, Laugh! I also volunteer for Meals on Wheels and look forward to seeing my “friends” each week, sharing a smile and a hug..

Livescribe Pulse Pen Taking Your Business to the Next Level

March 16th, 2009 -- Posted in Another Welcomed Weekend, Home Business Ideas, Misc Ranting, Time Management, Wealth Strategies, personal development | 4 Comments »

Last week was a blur with business activities, classes and preparing for my Mastermind Group which consisted of 3 days away sharing marketing strategies, business goals and objectives, as well as tips & tricks.  Much of the time was spent on being exposed to some of the “new” technologies (for me anyway…..) that may be used to not only stay ahead of the curve, but to also assist with streamlining certain business tasks potentially taking your business to the next level.

One of my favorites was the Livescribe Pulse Smartpen.  While this is marketed predominately to students and journalists, those of us who attend live events, trainings and seminars will benefit from it as well.  A couple of the key features are:

  • You can transfer digital copies of your notes directly to your computer;
  • While you are taking handwritten notes you can record what is being said at the same time;
  • You have the ability to replay any of the recordings by clicking on a word and it will “find” the associated audio;
  • You can share notes and collaborate with others online by loading both the handwritten notes and audio

Take a look at this short video which explains the features and benefits of this pen in more detail, as I barely scratched the surface…..

There have been numerous reviews of the pen over the last 6 months, including those which can be found at continue reading »

Woman is Trapped in Her Home Office!

March 9th, 2009 -- Posted in HowTo Business Questions, Misc Ranting, Time Management, personal development | No Comments »

Yes, she was a victim of allowing too much paperwork to accumulate and it got out of control causing her to be overwhelmed to the point of inaction.  She felt trapped in her home-based business and a slave to her home office !  Does this have a familiar ring to it?  Can you say YES , to any of these?

  • I have a couple of books I’m reading and they’re stacked up
  • I have a few books sitting out that I’ve been using for reference
  • I have stacks of miscellaneous articles or ‘tagged” magazine pages to file away for future reference (did you know that in actuality 80% of them, we never go back to use!)
  • I have printed off documents and receipts to file for tax preparation (so much for the “digital” world!)
  • My bulletin board has so much on it, the reminders and priorities and affirmations are lost in the mess

Have you felt the correlation between a messy area and being stressed?  That unspoken pressure when you sit at your desk to focus on something, but there’s a shadow hanging over you….. something that continue reading »

The 55 Most Popular Reference Sites

As a marketer of any business whether online or off, you probably spend significant time reviewing the best channels to advertise and market your business. Here are 55 of the most popular reference sites, based on inbound links, Google page rank, Alexa ranking, and general traffic altogether. Take a look at these, but with a "different set of glasses" than you normally wear. See if you can find a golden nugget with a slightly different twist that will move you ahead of your "competition". Just because these sites may not be in your same "industry" doesn’t mean there isn’t an opportunity for you. continue reading »
