I Work From Home…. Yahoo!

I work from home and count my blessings each day. It’s particularly helpful at times such as this morning when I woke up with a headache…. I didn’t have to call "my boss" and say I would be late. I was able to get up and start work after it went away. Which ties in with yesterdays post, and what resonated with me about the title…

  • One of my decisions to work from home was to eliminate a 1 1/2 hour commute each way
  • Another reason was to work from where, when and with whom I wanted (like minded individuals, not whiners)
  • Also, it is true that we can write our own paycheck (If you don’t put in the effort- you don’t get paid. But when you do, it can come back to you tenfold)
  • I have been able to "donate" one morning each week driving for Meals on Wheels, my way of beginning to give back to the community
  • During my life I have been divorced, widowed, and a single parent struggling to make ends meet. You might think because of that I’m driven for the money, but that’s not my "why". I am passionate about working with other women so they don’t have to "struggle" like I did. Through coaching and financial education products they are taught the difference between good and bad debt, and how to build for the future. Many start just wanting the education, then the supplemental income, and many are helping to teach others as well now.

You might say it’s a bit like "pay it forward"…… and one of the side benefits is that yes, the money part happens as well!

Leave a comment about why you like to work from home :-)

Until next time, J.

Financial Planning For Women

July 15th, 2008 -- Posted in Carbon Copy Pro, Home Business Ideas, Retirement | No Comments »

Did you know that an estimated 80% of American women will need to take charge of their finances at some point in their adult lives? With more women entering the workforce, divorce rates climbing, and women surviving their spouses – more wealth than ever will be placed in the hands of women . Hopefully you will know how to handle it and invest it wisely. Understanding your finances will empower you and make you feel more in control and prepared for the future.

Where do you learn these skills though? You’ve heard the saying, "It’s hard to enough to make money, but even harder to keep it", right? Think about the skills you will need most by reviewing the following:

  • Determine your financial strengths and weaknesses
  • Think about how to invest to become financially secure and independent
  • Be sure you have credit in your name (not just jointly with your spouse)
  • Determine your net worth
  • Research clubs, associations and/or advisors who can provide you with information to make your own decisions

You can now learn more about these skills and others, HERE….

Please leave a comment about where and how you’ve been educating yourself and raising your Financial IQ…. :-)

Until next time, J.
