Want a Home-Based J.O.B. or Home-Based Business - What Type Are You?

December 19th, 2008 -- Posted in Carbon Copy Pro, Home Business Ideas, Misc Ranting, Wealth Strategies | 2 Comments »

I think many people who respond to home based business opportunities are actually looking for a j.o.b. and not looking to be in business for themselves.
Here’s a few of the differences (in my opinion)….

A home based job and those looking for one:

  • Something you do for someone else, and they dictate your time, method of completion and compensation
  • This person usually wants to take no monetary risk and wants a guarantee that they will see a "return on investment" (ROI) within a matter of weeks
  • This person usually continue reading »

CarbonCopyPro Marketing Event & Attraction Marketing

October 21st, 2008 -- Posted in Carbon Copy Pro, Home Business Ideas, Marketing Tips, Retirement, Wealth Strategies | 2 Comments »

The CCPro Marketing event was presented to a full house this past Saturday and the line up of speakers had everyone on the edge of their chairs. Literally! The room was so full, there wasn’t space for tables. We were all sitting shoulder to shoulder with notepads in our laps.

Aaron Parkinson and Jay Kubassek, the co-founders of Carbon Copy Pro have embraced the fact that marketing is not just about selling. It’s about building a relationship or "Attraction Marketing ". There is no better authority on this than Mike Dillard who is the author of Magnetic Sponsoring . I highly recommend his programs. While he wasn’t an official speaker at the event this time - the day focused on the principles he teaches.

Here are a few of the concepts to think about: continue reading »

3 Steps to Defining Your Target Audience

October 14th, 2008 -- Posted in Home Business Ideas, Marketing Tips, Wealth Strategies | 29 Comments »

What? Define my target audience? I thought marketing online meant determining a few good keywords, running some ads, placing a dozen banners, and then people would find my site and buy. Viola! While that might have worked for a few folks a number of years ago when marketing online was fairly new, NOW it’s a whole new world! If you aren’t defining WHO you’re targeting, you are WASTING advertising dollars. Those of you who are marketing for FREE on Web 2.0 social sites are wasting continue reading »

Women Against Sarah Palin

I normally don’t share my political views publicly. But have you noticed since the election is so close, the mudslinging is getting worse? I try to ignore all of that and get to the issues , and I’ve got to tell you Palin scares the hell out of me. I’m not the only one either. There is a website, continue reading »

Dreaming: I’m the Boss of Me

August 19th, 2008 -- Posted in Home Business Ideas, Retirement, Wealth Strategies | No Comments »

Lately I’ve been coming across many articles that cite statistics. Here are some more interesting ones from Success Magazine:

  • 72% of Americans dream of starting their own business
  • 57% of Americans are passionate enough about a hobby to turn it into a business
  • 40% Want to love what they do
  • 24% want to be their own boss
  • 21% want to have a more flexible schedule
  • 15% want to spend more time with family

Do you dream of being your own boss? Are you already? What did it take to motivate you to take the plunge? I’d love to hear from you… :-)

Owning Your Own Business - Not a Hobby

August 7th, 2008 -- Posted in Carbon Copy Pro, Home Business Ideas, Retirement, Wealth Strategies | 1 Comment »

I’ve taken on a Personal Development project to create a short series of videos on frustrations and challenges, addressing why career changes are sought out and some challenges when they are made. A final video will recap the benefits of creating the first 10. These can be found on YouTube as well if you’d like to subscribe.

Here’s number 10……

Please leave a comment regarding your commitment to your home business (or has it ended up being a hobby?) :-)

Can a Home-Based Business Help Your Retirement Plan?

July 8th, 2008 -- Posted in Carbon Copy Pro, Home Business Ideas, Wealth Strategies | No Comments »

Admit it. You’ve thought about your retirement plan - right? So what’s the number you came up with to live comfortably? You may need to consider a home based business….

Chances are you said something much larger than $25,000 I bet. But did you know that according to the Employee Benefit Research Institute 60% of current retirees have less than $25,000 in savings and investments?

Excuse me!? But, how do they do it? Sure, they may be receiving Social Security and Medicare benefits, but can you imagine going into your Golden years "unprepared" ? How do you travel, treat the grandkids, and explore your hobbies, not to mention potential health related issues?

Those in the workforces need a reality check too! The same survey shows that 36% of workers have less than $10,000 in savings.

If you’re not able to plan for your future with the salary you’re currently making it may be time to start a home based business . Begin slow (part time) to supplement your income and then invest it for your future. There are many tax advantages that may surprise you as well.

"Take control of your destiny or someone else will" (And that might not be a positive thing!!)

Please leave a comment about how you are planning to "fund" your retirement…. :-)

Until next time, J.
